year:2012
techniques:Steel sheet piling

For fellow company Ballast Nedam Funderingstechnieken, the Van 't Hek Group is realizing the sheet pile excavation for the underground parking garage of an apartment complex in Hoogland.

"Het Kraaiennest" consists of three residential buildings with a communal underground parking garage in the heart of Hoogland, a village in the municipality of Amersfoort.

For this underground facility, the Van 't Hek Group has installed over 300 meters (985 feet) of steel sheet piling in total. The sheet piling was installed partly through vibratory driving and partly using vibration-free press-in techniques.

In order to be able to press the sheet piling into this hard foundation, a large part of the plot was pre-drilled. Pressing in the sheet piling was done using a heavy pressing rig with an HQP (Hek Quattro Piler).

By now, the Van 't Hek Group has 13 operating sheet pile pressing machines, including 8 silent pilers and 5 self-developed HQPs.
